The Martlets Guild has organised an archer-led workshop for you this Winter. You tell us what you want to work on, any part of your technique or your equipment. There will be six sessions across 3 days, split to mornings and afternoons. You can choose how many sessions you want to attend, from just one to all six. Mornings or afternoons or all day, subject to availability. All archers places will be allocated on a first come – first served basis for each session.

It has come to my notice that one of Martlets’ Coaches has enacted “BAD PRACTICE” and this must not happen again by ANY coach of ANY grade nor any well-meaning club archer, whether a member of Martlets or any other organisation/association/county or country.
We are putting together a NEW coaching team to work & support a NEW County Team with progressive development to gain success at inter-county matches. EVERY level of Coach is welcome so we can mentor BOTH you & the archer to grow together, plus you will gain CPD points to help your Coach Licence renewal as ALL levels now need CPD points. Travel expenses will be paid by Sussex County AA based on mileage.
As a coach the choice is yours: “Do I check the archer’s equipment first or do I look at their shooting ability; do I offer them a ‘quick fix’ or a sustainable coaching intervention?” However, ideally you want archers to stick with you, so empathy, understanding and conscientious personal care is what I (and all the top coaches) advocate, whether it be in a paid or amateur capacity, in your own club, or as a visiting coach, does not matter as long as you realise it is all client-led & client-compatible.
